Chardon Court Receives Ohio Supreme Court Technology Grant
The Chardon Municipal Court will begin a technology upgrade with a grant from the Ohio Supreme Court’s Ohio Courts Technology Initiative.
Supreme Court Chief Justice Maureen O’Connor today delivered a check for $33,717.96.
“I am pleased to personally present this check on behalf of the Supreme Court. It is important that we support local court technology projects to remove any barriers to the efficient and effective administration of justice,” Chief Justice O’Connor said.
The money will be used to upgrade the court’s case management system to allow for electronic payments and to provide online case information.
“We are grateful to receive this grant and honored that Chief Justice O’Connor presented the check to us in person. We will now be able to upgrade the technology to make our court more efficient and improve access,” Judge Terri Stupica said.
To date, the Supreme Court has awarded more than $1.9 million to local courts across Ohio for technology projects such as electronic document filing, case management system software, and electronic kiosks for self-represented litigants.
